TEENAGER Kelsey Clarke has been left distraught – after stewards banned her from dancing at a One Direction concert.

The 13-year-old secured tickets to see the global superstars perform at a Manchester gig last weekend as a birthday treat.

But Kelsey and mum Tracey were stunned to be told they could not get up and dance to hit songs by Holmes Chapel hunk Harry Styles and band members Zayn, Louis, Niall and Liam.

Stewards enforced the dance ban after fears excited concert goers could be seriously injured if they fell from the top tier of the stadium.

Kelsey, of Basford, said: “I was devastated when I wasn’t allowed to dance.”

The fans were stunned to be ordered to sit down for health and safety reasons.

Mother and daughter Tracey and Kelsey Clarke say they were never told about the dance ban when they booked their tickets 12 months earlier.

An Etihad Stadium spokesman said: “Level three was netted off for safety reasons at the front row, as we were concerned that due to the excitement, mainly young girls were jumping up and down too close to the perimeter wall.

“It’s quite a steep drop as you can imagine, therefore, spectators closest to the wall were asked to sit down for their and the others spectators’ safety.”

Tracey, of Victoria Street, Basford, paid out £96 for the One Direction tickets 12 months ago to celebrate Kelsey’s 13th birthday this year. They went to the band’s Manchester gig last Sunday.

Kelsey said: “I was devastated when the stewards said I was not allowed to dance.

“I was really excited when I found out my mum had got me the tickets.

“It was a long wait for the concert, and I was really looking forward to dancing along to all my favourite songs by my favourite band.

“It just didn’t seem very fair to me – all the people in the rows behind and elsewhere in the stadium were allowed to dance, but we weren’t.

“I just didn’t enjoy the whole show as much as I should have.”

One Direction – featuring band members Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne – are currently on a UK tour. They are playing Wembley Stadium tonight. Their hits include Story of my Life and the Best Song Ever.

Mum Tracey says her daughter’s birthday treat was ruined by the dance ban.

The 42-year-old said: “I booked the tickets 12 months ago because they sell out so fast.

“The tickets came in the post two weeks ago, and they seemed absolutely fine, but when we got to the show they told us we had to stay in our seats.

“I’ve never been to a concert before where you have not been able to dance, and there was nothing about this when I booked the tickets online.

“It’s a total farce. The stewards were just watching us the whole time and though the lads were great it spoiled the show a bit.”

Tracey booked the concert with Ticketmaster. The firm confirmed there were no restrictions listed on the ticket.”

One Direction's Zayn Malik has apologised for making an on-stage gaffe in which he misidentified Edinburgh as being Manchester.

The mistake occurred at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, mere days after One Direction brought their 'Where We Are Tour' to Manchester's Etihad Stadium.


"Manchester," Malik shouted to fans, before realising his error: "No! We're not even in Manchester, we're in Edinburgh, I'm so stupid."

He continued: "I'm really, really sorry. Just want to say a massive, massive thank you for bearing with us so far tonight… Sorry again!"

Malik went on to blame his confusion on suffering from ill health while keeping up with the band's touring schedule.

"We all have really bad colds, and really sore throats, so we're really sorry if our voices don't sound great tonight," the star explained.

"However, thank you for supporting us since The X Factor to this very day and you are the best fans in the world, so thank you for that."

One Direction will keep rolling after a controversial video of two of the band’s members smoking marijuana while on tour in Peru hit the internet last week. Since the video made its first appearance last Thursday fans have taken action against the band, going so far as to rip and burn concert tickets to upcoming shows. There have been some rumors suggesting the band could be delayed or not allowed to enter the US with an admission of unlawful conduct, but something to that extreme is taking the law to its fullest extent and unlikely to become a reality.

Still, the outrage of many fans is a reality, but the average ticket price on the secondary market hasn’t suffered quite as much as their reputation this past week. According to TiqIQ, One Direction tickets across the “Where We Are” World Tour has a current average of $232.98, just 2.8% lower than their mid-May average of $239.72.

The five-piece pop group will continue to prepare for their North American tour amidst a media firestorm as they are scheduled to play 30 dates from August to October this year. Their most expensive show is currently their September 13 stop at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The average price is currently $480.22, 106% above tour average, with a get-in price of $89. The band’s least expensive show will be at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia August 14, which currently has an average price of $138.51, 40.5% below tour average, with a get-in price of $33.

The 30-date stadium tour through North America will begin August 1 when the band travels into Canada to play the Rogers Centre in Toronto before entering the US August 4 at MetLife Stadium. The current average price for the opening show of their North American leg of tour at the Rogers Centre is $295, 26.6% above tour average, with get-in prices starting at $77. The tour will end at Sun Life Stadium in Miami on October 5 and has an average price of $280, 20.1% above tour average, with a get-in price of $51.

One Direction currently has just eight North American dates that fall under their current tour average of $232.98. Three consecutive early August dates at Foxboro’s Gillette Stadium currently see underwhelming ticket averages while five consecutive dates the following week at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field, Detroit’s Ford Field and Nashville’s LP Field will also see below tour average prices.

One Direction fans can rip and burn all the tickets they want, but it won’t seem to hurt secondary prices for the band’s upcoming North American leg of their “Where We Are” Tour. The British pop stars will continue to maneuver through outrage from fans and media alike but can find some solace in a similar amount of demand to see them live in concert this summer and fall.

Around the same time there were also rumours flying around that things between him and Sophia had cooled off after the couple were reportedly ‘growing increasingly distant’.

“Sophia’s worried that Liam’s growing more distant from her. He sometimes struggles to cope with the fame. It’s as if he’s taking it out on her,” a source revealed to heat.

One Direction member Niall Horan recently offered to buy his dad, Bobby, a new luxury home. However, he refuses the offer and says that he's pretty much contented with his life at the moment.

A reliable source confirmed the rumors to Daily Mirror and said, "Niall had offered to buy him a gorgeous house in the countryside but he just didn't want it. The high life just isn't for me."

Bobby and Niall's mother, Maura, ended their marriage in 1999, several years before Niall got his break from joining "The X Factor," according to Mail Online.

The One Direction singer's dad works behind a butcher's counter in Tesco and several sources have revealed that Bobby does not really want to receive any expensive gifts from his son, who is reportedly worth £15 million, Irish Mirror reported.

His refusal to take material things from his 20-year-old son is because he says he is really contented with the life he has at the moment.

A source seconded such rumors and said, "From day one, when Niall hit the big time, Bobby refused to take anything from him. Niall has offered to give him money in the past but he has refused. Bobby is down to earth and is happy as it is. He doesn't want anything from Niall despite his huge fortune."

Back in 2012, during an interview with the same publication, Bobby explained, "I don't know whether it's true he has made £2 million already but if it is, it's all his. I want absolutely nothing from him. I'm happy with what I've got. There's no way he'd offer me a car because I can't drive. LIAM PAYNE has apologised on behalf of his ONE DIRECTION bandmates LOUIS TOMLINSON and ZAYN MALIK after footage of them allegedly smoking cannabis leaked online.

The pair hit headlines when a video surfaced showing them puffing on a suspicious-looking cigarette in a car in Peru, while talking about "illegal substances" and "Mary Jane", a nickname for marijuana.

They have faced growing pressure to say sorry to their young fans, but have so far failed to address the scandal.

On Saturday (31May14), Payne reached out to the group's fans around the world, insisting the bandmembers are only young and will make mistakes as they grow up.

In a series of posts on Twitter.com, he writes, "I love my boys and maybe things have gone a little sideways I apologise for that. We are only in our 20s we all do stupid things at this age.

"We all have a lot of growing up to do in an extreme circumstance I'm not making excuse but it's fact we are gunna (sic) fall short somewhere.

"Hopefully we stand the test of time an (and) get it right in the end I don't take this for granted and I'm extremely grateful to be here doing this.

"Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us through this just know that we love you guys for it and it means the world."

The tweets came after Payne criticised columnist Jan Moir over her article blasting the band for taking their fans, fame and fortune for granted.

One Direction filmed drug taking on Google Glass

One Direction's Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson filmed themselves smoking marijuana on Google Glass.

The pair - who were captured on camera joking about smoking the drug as they passed around a suspicious-looking roll-up cigarette on their way to Peru's Estadio Nacional in Lima on 27 April - are believed to have recorded the incident on the futuristic Google device.

According to The Mirror newspaper, lawyers for the band have launched an urgent investigation into how the footage was leaked and believe that the specs - which cost around £1000 and can store huge amounts of data - will be at the centre of the search.

Meanwhile, the boy's bandmate Harry Styles is said to be furious with their "stupid and reckless" behaviour.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Harry is annoyed about the whole debacle. This should be one of the biggest weeks of the band's career with the launch of their UK stadium tour.

"Instead it has been taken over by this controversy. Harry thinks it was a stupid and reckless thing for Louis to allow to be filmed in the first place."

Louis, 22, is also said to be increasingly concerned by the reaction of his fans and is constantly checking his phone for news of their thoughts on the incriminating film.

The source said: "He was up checking his phone to see the reaction.

Harry Styles just might become the next Christian Grey, but "Fifty Shades of Grey" isn't already getting a remake aimed at the teen crowd. Instead a clever One Direction fan named Anna Todd decided to combine erotic fan fiction and her favorite 1D singer to create what would become a smash hit on the Wattpad platform.

According to a June 1 report by Sugarscape, Anna's fan fiction titled "After" has garnered over 800 million reads. It will hit bookshelves in November, and there's a possibility that it will become a movie. It's also getting the Jenny Trout treatment already, so you know it's a really big deal. The fanfic features some pretty steamy scenes, so there might be a massive controversy if the movie plans pan out – it's hard to imagine the mothers of Directioners taking their tweens to see a film that features Harry Styles having tons of kinky sex.

The "After" fanfic is a pretty naughty read. It tells the story of Tessa, a gorgeous girl who has just as many potential suitors as "Fifty Shades of Grey" heroine Anastasia Steele. Two of these suitors just happen to be named Harry Styles and Zayn Malik. Oh, and Liam Payne becomes Tessa's BFF. However, the guys aren't members of a band – they're just college students. Anna Todd has re-imagined Harry as a hard-partying frat boy who always wears black. He has a lip ring, sleeps with ton girls, drinks a lot, and doesn't fall in love. But don't worry – he has a softer side. He likes to write, and he's a fan of old school chick lit like "Pride and Prejudice" and "Wuthering Heights."

Of course virgin Tessa is just the girl to melt his ice-cold heart, but it's not easy. Harry Styles does some really, really horrible things to her (most girls would find them unforgivable). However, much like Christian Grey, he's harboring a dark secret that's the source of his bad behavior. There are actually quite a few twists that you won't see coming.

Like "Fifty Shades of Grey," the fanfic is loaded with sex scenes, so it will be interesting to see what happens to these if "After" is turned into a movie. And will Harry Styles get to keep the One Direction singer's name, or will it have to be changed? So many "After" fans are already picturing Tessa's tortured love interest as the real Harry, so that is going to be one difficult role to cast. Characters based on Zayn Malik and Liam Payne also play very prominent roles in the fanfic, and Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson are lesser characters.

Anna Todd has already revealed her pick for the role of Tessa: "Blue Lagoon" remake star Indiana Evans. If Anna was an actress, she could probably play the role herself – the 25-year-old writer is a gorgeous girl, so it's not hard to imagine her winning Harry's heart (now that would be the ultimate fanfic writer's fantasy). For the role of Harry, Sugarscape is already suggesting a few Christian Grey favorites like Alex Pettyfer and Theo James.

Anna is currently working on the last few chapters of "After 3," so fans won't have to wait long to learn the fate of "Hessa." And for those who scoff at fan fiction, Anna offered a good explanation for why the incredibly popular genre is here to stay. "I think people want more," she said. "I want more of everything! If I’m reading 'Twilight,' I want more. I want an alternate universe. 'Fifty Shades' changed my entire life too, and I had the same feeling. When you're watching 1D YouTube videos and going to their concerts and tweeting them, there's always a desire for more - and there’s nothing like sitting down and spending time with them in the form of fan fiction."

All Harry wanted was just to eat his snack, but a fan wanted to catch his attention in an unusual way.

Harry was eating during a short break in their Dublin, Ireland show when he was thrown a female undergarment. He proved to have a good reflex when he reached out to grab the flying object in his way, but quickly threw it back when he realised what he was holding.

Harry’s split-second reaction to the brassiere was priceless, though. He appeared momentarily perplexed with the item, and after he threw it back, he started chuckling while still chewing his food.

Fans throwing undergarments at their idols on stage is nothing new, particularly during rock concerts, but basing on Harry’s reaction, it’s not something that he wants a repeat of.

Meanwhile, one lucky fan who wrote a fan fiction of One Direction has landed a publishing deal. Simon & Schuster bought the rights to the three volume serialisation of Anna Todd’s Wattpad novel “After” in a reported six-figure deal.

When Harry Styles sent out a mysterious tweet this afternoon reading “I scream, you scream. We all scream..”, we thought it was just another one of his strange musings that don’t really make any sense, but turns out it was actually a cryptic clue to his location. He was spotted this afternoon maxin’ and chillaxin’ at his local ice cream farm ahead of the One Direction show in Manchester this evening, and seeing as this story involves 1D and desserts, we thought it was important that we discussed it.

Clearly following our kinda healthy logic, Harry was dressed in gymwear while eating his ice cream, looking ridiculously lovely in a long sleeved grey top paired with cropped black trackies, with the classic purple beanie and some very fetching retro sunnies.

But really, why are we bothering to talk about what he’s wearing when we need to discuss his choice in ice cream flavour.

He’s a double scoop vanilla and mint choc chip kinda guy, eh? Who’da thought it?

A few fans probably choked on their raspberry ripple when they were lucky enough to spot Hazza waving his wafer cone around the place, and managed to grab a couple of photos with him. A 99er in the sunshine with Curly Chops is literally the dream.

We’re very grateful for the pics anyway, because the sight of Harry and ice cream has made us a) quite happy, and b) quite hungry.
